Upon pondering what simple matters I take for granted, I came to the realization that I under appreciate my vision. Every morning I wake up to a blurry world and it isn't until I pop on my glasses that I can finally see. The other night I was frantically looking for my glasses when I stumbled upon the realization that I had them on. Why u say I didn't realize they were already on since I had clear vision? How?, simply because I've become so familiar with automatically wearing my lenses from the moment I awake that I've come to take advantage of them.
If I did not have any glasses then my world would suck; suck hard. I wouldn't be able to see others of afar. Truthfully it would be awkward seeing someone from afar waving because it might be directed towards me, and if I wave but its not for me then I look like a full. Sadly my ego cant keep taking blows like that. the worst part of not having any eye wear would definitely be the headaches. the constant blurs and forced sight would create some killer head aches.
Theres definately more simple items in my life I take advantage of or under appreciate, but the truthful matter is that it's gonna continue to happen. Chances are that within a short time I'll forget of my glasses again. The point here is not that I'm simplistic but rather that I am thankfull for the little things and do appreciate them. Later

Free
Futbol is the worlds sport. The USA should come to terms with that and start supporting the sport and its players to a higher degree so that the national team can finally make it to a higher standing in the world ranking. Go ahead and support your other sports and the teams you grew up rooting for but when those four years pass by and the World Cup rolls around head the call, watch the games and cheer on your team.
Just because the game doesn't tend to have many goals doesn't mean that there is no excitement. the swiftness of the plays, to the sight of the players to make the perfect passes, and less not forget the individual skill and technique to completely shit on an opposing player. No excitement, please!!! Futbol is a mans sport full of pure raw intensity with the highest caliber of players nudging every second of the game onwards. When the goal finally does fall, it is the moment of the game. the work and effort comes down to the ball hitting the back of the net.
But lets face it, the greatest part of the game, the part we all wait for is the goal. But even more so to hear the announcer scream goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllll and see how long he can hold it for. So please, if you read this I only ask for a few simple things, stop bashing on the sport and instead go out and support your teams, only then will you realize there is passion in the game.

Concers and Fears
Art is a free expression which is what scares me the most. Unlike math and science, which have answers that are set, art has no one answer nor possible outcome. It creates a sense of insecurity. At times I feel like I'm doing something wrong but it might just be that there is no one right way to accomplish a piece or assignment. Sure there's an upside to this, art has leeway but because its a class there must be some level of guideline.
Whats worse is that this class is not only an art class but it's a demanding class. The course seems to have a few goals. Apparently we, as the students, must learn to expand our views and challenge our creativity. Combined, these criteria create one difficult course. Thus, I fear may not be creative enough for the quality and style of the class. I fear that I may not know what to write for the journal entries. I fear that I will not know what to do for the class projects. But most of all I fear that I will fall behind because the class is extremely demanding.
One assignment may catapult me to a down word spiral of unknowing, uncertainty, non creativity and failure (F).

Monday Lecture
Alexandra Wallace took a racist approach to a simple minded problem within the UC acceptance system; the admission of "hordes of Asians" (Wallace's words not mine). Ultimately it comes as no shock to anyone to find that millions of people were offended and Wallace would become the center of hate. Hate a four letter word that can be so strong. A few days after the post we find out through the media that she received death treats which led to her decision to drop out of UCLA, but can you really feel pity for her? or anger towards those retaliators? The UCLA chancellor deems to call the retaliation "uncivil discourse," yet understand that the mass majority if not all Asian receiving calls that night came as a direct affect of the tsunami that hit Japan.
Sadly Wallace had to be a white person with blue eyes, the dominant Aryan race or so early America, no world history would have liked to have had us believe. Lets not forget that a savage war was waged on this volatile belief. So what makes Jimmy Wong's parody stand out above other responses to Wallace's vlog; he takes his emotions and conveys them in a artistic approach that in my opinion is true Americanism. Naturally Wong is, at least, slightly offended by the vlog since he himself is of Asian decent but rather than turn that offence into retaliation of verbal abuse or counter racism, Wong creates a musical parody with both humor and sentiment towards not only Wallace but Asians as well.
Wong takes Wallace's racist mochary of the Asian language and pulls at it untill it becomes this beautiful and clairvoyant song:
(Ching Chong) It means I love you,
(Ling Long) I really want you,
(Ting Tong) I don't actually know what that means,
(Ching Chong) It's never ending,
(Ling Long) My head is spinning,
(Ting Tong) I still don't know what that means.
In my opinion, it's one of the the most beautiful chorus sung by a human being.
